A friend just sent me a message regarding the Volvo V90 that recently visited us: If I had $70,000, I'd get that car just for the massaging seats. Yeah, they were that good.
Not that I can afford it, but if I had it, I'd rather go for the non-Cross Country version. But here's a better idea: If you had to spend $70,000 on one just one car, what would you go with? Something new? A classic? Race car? Just one car, though.
Right now I'm building a Cayman online--do I do a loaded regular Cayman or a stripped S?
20k NC Miata and ship it to Keith.
isn't that old ferrari range? how about a used continental gt?
The nicest CTS-V I could find?
Assuming i cant just invest the 70k in my car id go Early falcon wagon with a smallblock and 4 speed. Keep the change!.
If it had to be newer id go with an ecoboost mustang.
I'd probably go with a M240 and have a bit of change left over.

New car - stripped cayman S.
Used - not sure if you can still find a cayman R or if they immediately escalated.
Classic I think the nicest 308 gtb or 308 gt/4 or other 70s/80s wedge I could find. Then again I think that's 360 Modena territory.

That's getting to ctsv wagon territory.
If I had $70,000 to spend on one car, I'd make it a $2,000 Porsche 914.
The nicest 1969 R/T Charger I can find. It's the only dream car I've ever had.
Whatever $2K-$5K car catches my eye and a fat bank account.
Best 356 Speedster I could find. It's my dream car and a sound investment apparently.
3rd gen rx7, make it have about 400 reliable horsepower (swap is fine)....
Without thinking too much, and assuming this is my only car. I'm feeling new C63 AMG this week.
Making a running driving biturbo
Another RX3 wagon protouring mod style on air with a 26b.
If I had to spend it all: Lightly used GS-F.
Otherwise about three cars in the 10k range and pocket the rest.
I want to say Vagon, but the $20-30k tax on them vs a sedan is just plain berkeleying retarded.
In reply to poopshovel again:
I read that as Vanagon at first and was very confused.
I really liked the C63 AMG for the very brief time we spent together.

I'd go for a new, unoptioned Cayman S or maybe a used previous gen Cayman S with an upgraded suspension. A Jag F-Type in British Racing Green with a manual might be acceptable too, but the Porsche would hold it's value much better. Now if it were stipulated that we could never sell the car, I might go for the Jag.
Aaaaaand now you shiny happy people have me shopping for Vagons.
I would take my 03 sierra Denali and spend as much money as needed to make it new again.
Frankly I would never spend $70K on just one car but if I had to........best 911 TT I could find. $70K could buy several awesome rides and you might still have some left over for other fun stuff.
