I was cruising around on eBay today and I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Historic-IMSA-RS-AMC-Spirit-ex-THB-ex-Moise_W0QQitemZ300335040403QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRace_Cars_Not_Street_Legal_?hash=item45ed5d0793&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Looks pretty fun and quite clean.

I remember watching Patty race that car in Kelley Girls at Road Atlanta back in '79. Strange that it started life as a Gremlin. Really cool ride.

Speaking of AMC cars and weird sponsors, I also remember that the E-Z Wider rolling paper company sponsored a Gremlin and a Pacer at Road Atlanta, painted brown with the logo on the side, same as the papers (which weren't that good)..

They didn't place that well, but they were smokin',,,,,

I believe I love this car. Maybe because, my first car was an '80 Spirit in almost that shade of blue.

ebay ad said: The body did not require repairs and a fresh coat of paint was applied, leaving the "patina" of the original race car intact

"fresh coat of paint" and "patina" do not compute. Is he saying that the car was freshly painted before it went into storage???

275hp is pretty impressive. Neat car. I'd prefer to see it in roadrace trim, though.
