Don't forget you and I need to get that body side skirt to you before you start paint.
IIRC, it needs minor repair, but I think it's on the back side (screw holes broke out)

The slope just went from slippery to sheer.
I think im going all out on paint and body. Hanging a quarter, doing a really nice engine bay, etc. Going to shoot for the quality my neon was, and duster is.
Im still hopeful for challenge budget, but hanging a quarter makes that much more difficult.....
Sucks that it is the left quarter and you can't use the one from the donor.
You could probably find an empty shell to cut what you need and scrap the rest, for cheaper than a rear quarter from someone that wants it off his yard, but that would be a waiting game...
In reply to Piguin :
That's pretty much what I'm doing right now. Hunting for a local shell with a good quarter that i can get, and hopefully harvest the charcoal canister and other emissions from as well. Maybe even a bunch of grommets and nice hardware.
Ive got a qats to go before the quarter is my holdup though.
Playing with colors and quarters. I'm shocked at how much bondo i took out for how much damage i didn't find. I still bought another quarter though. Have to go cut it off the donor this weekend.

It's a mazda. When I repainted my rx7 racecar, I found 1/4 inch thick bondo under stock paint. Lots of creases and pinholes too. It was incredible. It looked like body damage until I found it on the other quarter panel, slightly different. Pretty sure it was all stock original paint....

Thanks! Im pretty happy with how it came out. Not perfect by any stretch, but skim coat only!

That is a major compliment coming from you. You and no home are the guys that inspire me to do better work. Someday I hope to have you all's Talent
bare metal miata. Have an appointment with my buddy tomorrow morning to use his sandblaster on the jambs and engine bay. Then epoxy primer.
the below discs do great at removing paint, bondo, gravel guard, rust, t-shirt and flesh.
In reply to Dusterbd13 :
What brand are those discs? As soon as I saw the picture, I was curious how you went about stripping it.
In reply to Dusterbd13 :
Link is a little wonky, but I think I got them. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Looks like the only real bodywork will be underhood, drivers quarter, a few small spots on the front fenders, and a small spot on the hood. Other than that, just a LOT of blocking. It should come out super straight when im done.
My shops a frigging mess, storage is a mess, driveways not looking too good, and my hands hurt. Im definitely in full project mode!
im tired. Real update later. But its ground, sanded, epoxied, and shot woth high build. All of it.
Little filler work. Lots and loys pf blocking.
In reply to TVR Scott :
This is upol. Its working pretty easy. But doesn't build thickness as quickly as some others. However, sands well, cures quick, inexpensive. All wins.
i should be spraying more tonight or tomorrow. Slowly working towards 800 grit and fully assembled before sealer and color
You still accepting input on paint colors?
I saw this, and loved the color, and immediately thought of you.
