So, did any one see tonight's Top Gear with the new Alfa 4C? Please please tell me it's coming to the U.S. if so I will need to be unfaithful to Ford and get one

Possibly $54k and this year; http://jalopnik.com/the-unbelievably-sexy-alfa-romeo-4c-can-be-yours-for-ju-1371201664
Just watched it and now I want it. A lot. I'd yell "Shut up and take my money" but I don't have near enough!

Proof automotive enthusiasts can complain about anything.
CARBON FIBER SPORTS CAR, MANUAL STEERING, ONLY COSTS AS MUCH AS A CORVETTE, SHUT UP AND BUY IT.

How much did you expect it to be? I mean honestly? Its less than a Cayman. I would of expected closer to 70-80 I'm amazed that it may land here for a mere 54k.
It hasn't been reviewed terribly well (neither Evo nor Chris Harris liked it very much) but I don't think I care. It's one of the sexiest things available to mortals on these shores in a long while. I'll have to borrow a decent car to drive to the dealership to get a test drive.
Sorry, didn't mean to the 'that guy'. No it's not overpriced for what it is, I'll just have to wait 5 years until normal Alfa depreciation takes over and I can get one with the deposit from returning a few empty six packs. Reality strikes in that a used Cayman is going to be more affordable and probably a more dependable.
First world problems :)

Oh, how quaint, you watch on cable! 8 days late. Ep. was on Sunday Feb 2nd, Ep 2 was Sun Feb 9th. BBC America ep 1 is tonight. I'm a Brit so I watch in real time.
Ep one is just a challenge, the news and a Start in a reasonably priced car. All very predictable, but still very funny. Ep 2 is a better show.

Some of us are just not cool enough to watch TV on a computer.

I wish someone could post a how-to for watching this without it getting deleted in 10 minutes... I don't have cable and have a lack of patience when it comes to computers.

C&D loved it: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-alfa-romeo-4c-coupe-first-drive-review
Kids, you’d better hide your college funds, because temptation—real, reachable, I-can-do-this-if-I-just-reorganize-a-few-priorities temptation—is about to kick down the front door in high heels and leather. If Dad can resist the thing, pass his phone number to the pope.
Wow this thing came it at under 60k? That awesome! I was totally expecting 80s since they had originally guessed in the low 70s and we all know how that goes.
I have to say... that $54K has wheels turning... especially since we are unlikely to see the car for another year.
But considering they haven't even sorted out where to sell the cars here, I'll believe it when I see it.
I hope Alfa can come back, and I also look forward to seeing the TG episode that covers this.
But I don't see this car as being significant. Why? Well, this car has been here before- with a badge from Lotus and an engine from Toyota, and a slightly smaller price tag. And it didn't exactly sell like hotcakes.
In terms of history, it's more a TZ than a GTA, which means it's that much more rare and that much less practical, and therefore that much less appealing to a market. It will sell, surely. But not in great numbers.
I would be stunned to see that the P car is less practical to live with than the 4c.

That's why I was asking about its actual size. The Elise is just too small to be a real car. It's not easy to get in and out of, The complete lack of any interior just doesn't make for a practical DD. The fit, finish, smell and rattles of an Elise are just too kit-car-ish to be a real world DD for normal (None GRM) person.
Let's take the MR2 Spider. I really am not a Toyota fan as is well known. But that car was easy to get in and out of, had a real interior and reasonable fit finish etc. If the Alfa is as practical as the MR2, blessed with those Italian Super model looks as opposed to the Toyota's ugly duckling I think it will sell well enough. No, not in the tens of thousands, but well enough for a flag ship. I have hope it's a reasonable size, they kept talking about how wide it was, but that's not an issue for American roads.

There's a FAQ on Finalgear.com that might be useful. But if you have a lack of patience, perhaps you should get someone to help.
The 4C is never going to sell in Focus volumes, but that's okay. It's an interesting car in a bunch of ways, and it will only brighten up our roads. I believe the headlights look like that because it was less expensive than trying to get a full light approved. I predict aftermarket lights for them before too long.

I guess it would blow your mind that I watch TV on my TV, powered by my computer. HDMI is neat.
