I used to claim that the only reason to own an auto was if you had a limb missing. Now I doubt I’ll ever buy another three pedal car.
Hear! Hear!
I always said that I liked to listen to the noises my daily drivers made.
Now, with two young kids, if I could drive a heavily sound deadened box, I would.

I used to make fun of dad...
Well I guess I still do. Im just aware i have to be a bit more careful now!
I don't understand people that spend more on mods and swaps than the vehicle is worth in stock form...
...has a PAR box for a BG chassis

Seeing some common trends here... Well, count me in!
Miatas... why would I want such a silly little car? I own three (down from 4).
I'll never own another GM (after a POS C6)! Bought a ZL1 Camaro.
Manual transmissions only! Specifically bought our truck and ZL1 with autos...
And for you motorcycle guys, I always made fun of the old farts with the bead seats. Well...
Bead seats??? YIKES. Guess I haven't gotten that far yet.

I too, will NEVER own a car with an automatic. Now, I have an Accord .... with a CVT
Having kids. Yup, got em and Grandkids too! Owning land yachts, yup, a Navigator. Farty style cars, you guessed it, a Volvo.
I like the way my ST makes passing cars easy. Even three at a time.

I’ve been seeing a PDK in my future.
I never could have even imagined a world in which I didn't have a car.
Yet here I am living car free with no end in sight.
Purchased my 3rd Lexus yesterday. LS400 (bought for wife), GS430, now a GX460 that I am trying to justify as a practical off-roader I can take my kinds and their friends out in.
Previously would have never thought of myself as driving such a floaty old man mobile.
I just installed an Sony Apple Carplay head unit. And like it.
Thanks for reminding me that I'm not there yet. Now let's get that new motor assembled for the Mustang. The one that is worth more than the car so I can take a few seconds of my HDPE lap times while racing the clock.
Currently own a minivan and SUV for old man duties.
I used to be huge into the Domestic side of the Domestic vs Import tuner wars. Swore I'd never have an import.
Now I have an RX7.

I used to make fun of fuel injection. Called it fuel rejection, always swapped it for carburetors etc.
I never gave motorcycles a second glance. I now have owned 4. My first bike (which I still own) is the only vehicle I have ever seriously modified.
Made fun of WRX owners for being flat bill-wearing vapers. I still do, even though I own a WRX now.
I hate automatics and have no need for 4 wheel drive. My new winter daily has both.....(it was cheap....)

Welcome to the Dark side. You will be happy here.
Living with one's parents as an adult used to be a prime target for poking fun at friends.
Not "living with" mine, but am in a rental owned by them (and paying rent) and located less than half a mile away. Stings a little.
In reply to JohnInKansas :
not as bad as a former co-worker who got evicted by his parents this past year.

Thought I'd be a BMW guy for life, but now I've bought myself 3 Chevy's (in <2 years) and only 2 BMW's (>4 years), with no other BMW's in sight.

LOL I grew up with fuel injection in the 80s. I can't imagine a car with a carb. I feel just fine hooking up a scan tool or laptop to a car though and testing sensors. I'm actually stoked about the Holley Sniper systems. It makes EFI easy and powerful. If I ever get a car from the year I was born, I will go Sniper. I might even put a sniper system on my challenge car post challenge just to modernize and simplify.
