Hi ,
I wanted to adapt the Prius power steering , but did any model Prius have tilt and telescopic shaft ?
If its not a Prius option is there a good junkyard car to get the shaft set-up out of ?
Do I also need it collapsible ?
I also will be using the 3 bolt Grant steering wheel adapter to
probably run an old metal flake steering wheel :)
OHHH and its an old style non-power steering box , not rack and pinion if that matters......
OOHHH #2 and mostly need it for parking and low speed lane changes in traffic ....
Here is the Hot Rod article

Thanks for your help
I just went out to my driveway to verify. My '04-'09, Gen2 Prius have tilt wheel but they do not telescope.

I've heard of a few rally guys use this with great results.
I don't believe the 1st, or 2nd gen prius had telescoping steering wheels. Not sure if any of the current ones do.
Given the power unit attaches to the column, you might be able to install it onto another column that does telescope.

Yeah thats what the Hot Rod story did , but I do not know which cars that I can find in the junkyard have both tilt and telescope :)
Second gen. Kia Souls are tilt and telescope.
This is an old thread, but in case it's still of interest, here is a link to an article that answers all these questions and a lot more including details on shaft sizes, differences in units, and how to adapt them to both manual and power steering racks. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/using-prius-electric-power-steering-with-tilt-and-telescopic/160558/page1/
