My Google fu points to me needing a new TCM for my 2003 Passat 5 speed auto. I did have flooding in the passenger side. But the drains are clear now.

So there are more of TCM on eBay with the same part number but different letters after the numbers. Does this matter. There are differences with the same 2003 3 auto 1.8t. the v6 has the same numbers as well. Different suffex. Same with Audi A4 and a6. Even thought they are Quattro.

Any one knownif it has to be exactly the same. Or a site where the compatibility might be

The suffix letters are just revisions. Theoretically, as long as the suffix is newer than your existing number, you're fine. (When you order a new module from VW, you get the latest revision, period.) Practically, it probably doesn't matter what the suffix is.

And why the berk did VWAG put electronics in a waterproof basin in the lowest point in the passenger compartment, amirite?
