Yeah, I see them pop up for sale fairly often, so I'd guess that if there were only that many made, there's more than an average amount of them around now.

I don't even consider them an uncommon car. Strange that there were that few made. Wiki confirms it.

In my opinion is someone pushed a 35mpg "big wagon" out and sold it to the greenies that need a high efficiency 6/7 passenger (Impala, Lacrosse and XTS wagon specifically) that could a great open market that is currently riddled with tall SUVs. The fact that they tall SUVs are getting so much more expensive means there is a profit potential.

Yeah but at XTS prices noone will buy it. It will be super niche. MPG-minded people are already griping about the ELR for the same reason. I think the way to efficiency lovers hearts will be through cheaper vehicles. Ive said before that i think it would be great to see a CMAX drivetrain in a Transit Connect even if it 'only' gets 32-35mpg.

It probably exists in the real world, too. They made awd magnas.

I find this oddly appealing. I always thought the early Taurus was a good looking car.

my old wagon...

Pay close attention to the passenger rear bumper section where it meets the rear quarter, the mud was so intense that you can see it exploding the rear bumper off of the car. Worth it for the picture for sure.

Bought this on Saturday, picked it up Monday morning: My new headache

2004 V70R 6 speed manual trans. 105k miles. $9k. Decent condition (subject to the POST purchase inspection I'm getting at the local Volvo independent right now) with some cosmetic issues. Manual trans V70Rs with reasonable miles sell in minutes. It's crazy. An identical car showed up on swedespeed Saturday morning at 7:30AM. By the time I contacted the poster at 10AM, a deposit was on its way.

I learned that cars can show up on CarFax the moment they are taken in trade. In the case of this car, the "Internet Manager" at the dealer didn't even know they had it. They finally put it on AutoTrader on Friday but didn't note the transmission type. I was expecting an auto, in fact. Once I saw the manual, I was done. Ask was 10,800. My first offer was $6k. :)

Plenty of cosmetic issues - mostly bumpers and wheels - but the interior is pretty clean and it seems to have been well serviced at a Volvo dealer.

Shockingly good in the snow, even on Conti DWS tires.
