Well, I just shipped back the 2.7L lifters to Rock Auto. What is different about the 2.4L lifters from the standard 2.0 DOHC lifters? I've seen the rocker differences.

The 2.7 rockers are (allegidely) stronger, and have a re-worked oiler at the tip which sprays oil directly on the cam.

The 2.4 lifters reduce aeration vs. the stock 2.0 units.

The revised 00-10 lash adjusters have a hole in the tip to better deal with aerated oil. People call them "2.4" lifters because the 2.0 was no longer being produced in '00 when they were introduced, and enthusiasts would source used ones from 2.4 engines in the junkyard. These parts are also superseded the old 2.0 DOHC valve-train in service channels.
