kia forte? I can recommend this car to anyone. zero problems here with 50k done in a little less than two years. pretty comfy, has a better engine than the soul, all the new ones have six speeds, manual or auto, bluetooth, sat radio, tranny is pretty good but the clutch takes some getting used to. pretty fun to drive over all. I love mine.

Those are very nice cars to be in. But I think it's time he takes another look at domestic offerings, like the Fusion, Cruze, Focus, Taurus, Malibu.

That would be my vote - particularly in the wagon / 6SM configuration - but if you can even find one, it will be over $20k.

I think Nissan went 100% CVT.

I testdrove a 2006 Sedan with a 6 speed manual in late 2008. I just checked on the website, and the Altima is still available with a 6 speed. The Maxima, however, did go to CVT only.

You know, someone has already asked about the Altima. Hmmm, maybe it's still worth something.

Thanks for the advice, too. Keep it coming.

Good to know. I'll have to visit the configurator to see if they gimp your engine choices like they do in the Mazda6.

Mazda 3 or Ford Fusion.

But I laugh at the no trouble in xxxxx miles comments, any modern car should go well past 100k without a problem.

Ex-rental car for sure.

If not for the stick-shift requirement I'd suggest the Prius.

Then he'd have the same vehicles I do.

Do you like your Brother? This could make a real difference on our choices. Chevy Cruze RS = 100,000 mile powertrain warranty and 38ish MPG.

I would agree but it should be worth noting. Just as I would mention if something had gone wrong.

Ive got probably 120,000 miles between 3 Fusions. (2) 2008 and a 2010 with between 0 and 50,000 miles. No issues with any of them and haven't heard of any co-workers with problems. This is a sample size of about 10 people all with the same cars.
