I made a button!

That's awesome!
I played musical cars and drove the GT6 for the first time since mid July. Amazingly, it started up pretty quickly with no drama. I wish the BMW was so cooperative... after a few weeks of inactivity, the (new) battery is dead as a doornail...
I think over the next week or so I'll give the Triumph some love.
Put new wheel studs in the back of the 2. Do I need extended ARP wheel studs on a stock class rallycross car? No, no I do not, but they are nice for changing wheels and there's just not much that you're allowed to do in stock. Limit of the rules and all of that.
Mounted and balanced brand spanking new 17" tires bought from a shady guy at a yard sale for $50 dollars on my fiancées car.
Then proceeded to weld in floorboard patches of project until I ran out of wire. Patches were made out of a 1993 craftsman lawnmower hood. Very good quality metal and perfect thickness. Just a little hammering on anvil. Plus I saved the sweet hood leuvers for another project.
sold the acr. found radiator hoses for the 54 ford. got the water pump and radiator in for the 64 el camino. test drove the 70 duster for the first time with the new gears. haven't driven that car since early june.....
up next is finish the 54 and 64, and make up my mind about a new daily.

I drove the geo for the first time in TWO YEARS. I didn't resurrect it, my mechanic did.....two weeks ago we threw the car in the trailer and hauled it over there. He doesn't have everything put back together yet, but it ran nicely.
It turns out that it had a bad fuel pump. I am really glad I didn't screw with it myself. That whole drop-the-tank method of working on pumps is stupid. The only fuel pump I've ever changed was on the datsun 910 (R.I.P.) that became the drive train donor for my replica.) That, being external, was REALLY simple....a couple vice grips on the rubber hose parts, unplug the electronics, unbolt it, and reverse the process.
You can probably guess that I maintained the external fuel pump for the new car. Why mess up something that simple.

Leave it to Volvo... the fuel pump in a 240 is hard-plumbed to the fuel filter via a screwy banjo fitting... and since it's all located under the car, the likelihood it's all rusted together is high... so if you ever have to replace the fuel pump on a Volvo 240, plan on replacing the filter and that fitting assembly as well.
Only had half an hour to work on the attic floor at lunch and found myself a victim of poor spatial relations (my own). Or just optimism.
Tried to cut a panel of plywood to fill the last open area and start filling in some of the gaps with one piece, and discovered that once I got it up the attic ladder, there was no way to feed it into location. I'll have to drag it back down and cut it in half.
Hoping I can cut down the number of trips up and down the ladder per panel while finishing this up.
Note the varying widths of the center catwalk panels. That's the last time I ask to have my plywood ripped "in half" at HD... OTOH, I think there was a sign suggesting they didn't do that, so I should probably just be thankful for the favor and kick myself for not fitting the center to the braces more carefully.
I made a list of parts I still require to get the Spider running on MS. I put all those parts into my cart on diyautotune, then looked at my bank account. I then closed the tab and scowled at the internet. Gotta find some stuff to sell in the garage...

Good Gawd, that's pure EVIL!!!
My best friend recently proposed a new rule that all engineers be given three of whatever car they design. The first one immediately, the next one to their kids when they are of driving age, and the final one when the engineer's grandkids are of driving age.
The goal is that if they design something stupid like you've described, they will a) be living with and maintaining it for a long time, and b) will live long enough to hear an immediate relative cursing "whatever idiot designed X"
Installed a strut tower brace and hood strut kit on the Mustang. These shoulda been factory... at least on GTs.
Currently in the middle of a garage reorganization. My god, I've got a lot of crap... About to put a pile of old rotors at the curb. The local scrap guy will love me.
Got the gauges in Fergus. Instead of thinking that he's running hot, I know he's running hot. Messed with a bunch of stuff. Still hot. berkeley. I'll update the thread to try and get some advice. At least voltage and oil pressure are good. So that's nice.
Not a thing. I didn't do ANY cool stuff. I was supposed to go to the Ford Ecoboost Challenge in Orlando, and have dinner with a friend from college afterwards......instead, I'm dealing with paperwork from my job.
Quick car wash of the xB for a show tomorrow. Where someone is delivering to me 4 MR2 OEM wheels with racing slicks mounted for $125, figure they might be fun someday. (Not in the mud anyway.)
Finally got the Bronco out and washed after months engine rebuilding, fuel system replacement, etc. These picts make her look better than she is...

Well, flattering pics or not, congrats!
My garage... what's that game where you move the tiles around to make the picture? Yeah... it's like that... only there's a million tiles... and the shapes keep changing... but made good progress and will continue after I finish eating dinner.

The TETRIS garage. I have one too. "Gotta move the crash cart with all the 2.2 engine parts on it to get to the shelf with the brake fluid on it, then move the ..." and so on.
Got the one plywood panel too big to fit through the rafter supports cut down, fit, and fastened.
And then I noticed I'm still sick. Chicken soup, NyQuil, and hoping I'm done with the last of it for tomorrow's autocross.
jacked up my trailer and took off the wheels to change the u-bolts and spring plates that were rusty and found my spring to frame mounts are also rotten. not fun times. trailer needs to be ready to make an 800 mile round trip in 2 weeks to pick up a car. lots of welding tomorrow. the good news is everything else is in good shape underneath.
Set myself on fire... Wife thinks I got lazy and quit on her car while I was applying silver sulfadiazine to burns...
