Whats good about them, bad about them?
I know the early models had an entertaining time with the hydraulic fans, although the generic universal cooling fans seems to be the fix, provided you wired them to turn on with your AC.
There is the DCCV valve that likes to go and cheap ford plastics in the cooling system.
Coils like to go, fuel filter likes to clog...
Other than that I see no complaints about the cars, anyone have a few of these before?
Thanks,
TurboFocus
They are a Jag S-type with a different skin. That's all I need to know.

I like the way they look and have come close to picking one up, but I hear electrical problems are quite common. Supposedly the 2006 got most of that sorted out, but I have no first-hand experience with them.
I like that it's a not-enormous RWD sedan that's not a BMW or Mercedes and wish there were more options in that category.
Get a 2006.
My grandfather bought a 2002 and I did all the work on it. It was only 5 years old or so and it was mostly a PITA.
Things that go wrong more often than they should:
COPs
Valve cover gaskets
Misfire because leaking vcg
Ball joints (gotta buy the entire control arm)
Tie rods
Clockspring
Window regulators
Interior electronics are the suck
Cooling systems
They pretty much have all the typical BMW, Ford, and Jaguar issues in one car.

The rear suspension will also fall apart... and the knuckles were $1200 per side when they were available... they're discontinued now. All the plastic on the cooling system will also break. I would not recommend one to someone i liked, lol.

I only recommend 2006 because it's the best of the worst.
I'd rather buy a e39 BMW or w211 Mercedes if I wanted cheap midsize v8 luxury sedan.
I assume you meant upper ball joints.
The front LOWER ball joints press into the upright from above. The wheel bearing has to come out to do this. If you live where things corrode, the wheel bearing will NOT come out.
I had to do two lowers on an LS. It ended up costing $2000 in parts because we also had to replace the uprights and wheel bearings. I tried pressing the bearings out with a 20 ton press and it just stalled the press. Even after cutting through the upright as much as I could to separate the aluminum for scrap reasons.
Grounding behind the battery tray in the rear. Had one that i spent three days on trying to find a bad ground. Lincoln doenst even list the ground in the EVTM.
