Other than the SC, I'm with you. To me, they are a luxury car for the person who just doesn't care. They want the nice interior and reliability. Other than the SC, they are all the epitome of bland.

Step into the late '90s. Lexus has boring sedans - ES and LS and they have sporty sedans - IS and GS.
I used to hate on Toyota and Honda back in the '80s while I drove my cool assed Scirocco (which left me stranded on a regular basis) but times change. Pretty much all the major carmakers have a full line from boring to sporty.

No, it's not. Lexus is what you buy when you want a Benz but can't afford it, or aren't klassy enough 
No manufacturer that blatently copies other marques can be classy.
Maybe I'm just sentimental, but I can't let a thread about older sedans go by without an XJ40.

And they still fall short of Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and even Cadillac in terms of sportiness and classiness.
Any older sedan with huge modern wheels is no longer classy, might be cool, but certainly not classy.

Lexi may be good cars. Not classy, especially the tarted up Camry clone ES models.
I wouldn't say anything from Japan that is recent is classy. Some old stuff from the 60's and 70's I could call classy, but the ones that come to mind are rare beasts. I also would rule out the 5 series that someone posted. Those are just old at this point, not classy. Times change.
Friend of mine RHD Toyota Celsior. Has an air bag controller - reclining rear seats. 0 rust and he paid 6K for it.

Me likey. An older diesel Benz, newer XJ8L or much older Cadillac are the only large sedans I'd realistically want to replace it with.

There was a Rover SD1 in the Pull-A-Part. Actually looked pretty good from most angles. Ended up feeling kinda sorry for the old girl.

One of my favorite cars at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale this year was this 450SEL 6.9. Hammer price was a mere $3850 Condition was amazing -- A real time machine.
