As the title asks, what would be a good use to put a Solstice 2.4 Ecotec engine and matching manual transmission to? I believe it's a 1st generation unit, so no drive by wire (I think) to deal with. It would need to be controlled somehow, so Megasquirt ? What would you drop it into?
build a three wheeled machine that only appeals to retired dentists?
If the price was right, probably my FB.
Or better yet, you could by my FB and then put it in your FB.

Personally, I'd get rid of it. Every time I've driven a Sky/Solstice, I've been shocked with how coarse/buzzy/crude these cars feel. It's like GM thought high NVH was synonymous with sportiness.
Although I don't advocate such perversion, there is a kit to put that engine in a Miata. Sold by some guys up in Canada, seems to be fairly well put-together. Just worked on too many of those engines to stomach the thought of putting them in something else.
repower a chevette or something

So many options! Opel GT (really any RWD Opel), Chevette idea was good (I know, a bit redundant), Chevy Luv, Isuzu Impulse, et cetera.
Sell it to me for my rx7 chumpcar.
Chevette or old panel truck like the guy from europe brought to drag week last year. Early nova if you want to anger folks.

Hyundai Pony. Box flares. Louvers. Win.

Volvo wagon. Spiritual successor AND hilarious burnouts.
the benefit of putting it into a chevette is that no matter how underwhelming the result, it'll still be a massive improvement.

Chevette, Box flares, paint it silver and put Vauxhall Dealer Team stickers on it oh and something resembling brakes.
Spitfire, baby.
I always wanted to make a reliable british roadster with a modern EFI 4-banger.

Put it in a Solstice? Those engines don't excite me.
Ironically I took pictures and drove this today:
<a href="">Solstice
I found it pretty rough and coarse but fun to drive. Had nice turn-in when taking the on-ramps onto the highway. After an hour of driving my leg was cramping up and couldn't find a comfortable position. Too bad, I was hoping to like this more.

Funny, I was browsing pictures of Chevette 2300 HSs and HSRs an hour ago.
i like the Chevette idea, but make sure you find the plainest, most boring 4 door you can find... preferably brown...

I wanted one of those so badly when they first came out. Until I sat in one, didn't even bother driving it. Was the worst fit I've ever encountered.
Chevette sounds like a winner.
