As we're not including free stuff... Least for me was 20 pounds plus a burger and a pint of ale for a 2.8i Ford Capri, 50 pounds for a '72 Triumph Toledo which kept overheating, then 75 pounds for a '72 Triumph Dolomite 1850, was up for sale as "the engine doesn't work", gapped the points and it was good as new (kindof), went on to be my stage rally car.   Loads of stuff in the 300-500 pounds range.  Most would be the 2013 Mazda 2 we bought new for $14,990...

Half of the $300 total needed to buy a primo looking (not really) / running (kind of) / smoking (profusely) 1980 VW Rabbit diesel with 275k miles on it and now air cleaner back in 1990.  She had led a hard life leading up to my 1/2 ownership, but kept working well for me and my co-owner for the next year until I moved on to a "real" car!  I miss that car ...

In 1965 I was 16 and working at a gas station, a guy came thru town about 10 pm on a Sat night.....he was driving a white Caddy with the wife and 5 kids in the other car following behind. He said the car wouldn't make it back home to Oklahoma and if somebody gave him $10 he'd sell it happily. I handed him a $10 bill and I was the proud owner of a 1956 Pontiac 4 dr, cream over flesh (?) with a matching interior. No brakes, bald tires, no exhaust and filthy.

After I cleaned it up I found it had a V-8 with a Carter 4bbl carb, leather interior, factory A/C, 4 speed hydramatic and it was in really good shape. I redid the brakes, bought new tires, added dual exhausts, tuned it up and it was my high school car.

Not counting the cars family have just gifted me because they were worn out and not worth the hassle of craiglslisting, $300 for a 1987 Dodge Charger with 70k miles in 1996. 2.2L carbeurated, maroon over maroon faux velvet.

Most was probably the C5 for 20k cash.

Most: $18,900 for my 04 F250 Superduty diesel in 2011. Still have it and love it

Least: $300 for a rusted out early 80's F150 for the engine. It did drive home. never mind the that when the glove box opened its contents hit the ground, or that the seat belt ripped out of the floor when I went to put it on. Not to mention that my mom laughed all the way home following us as chunks of body fell of and rolled away into the ditch....

This will be fun! My best "scores" were the following:

1998 Honda Accord, 187000 Miles - 0$, FREE! (they thought it was rodknock, it was valve noise. Valves adjusted, good to go for the 8000 miles I drove it then I sold it for 1500$)
2001 Nissan Maxima, 72000 Miles - 800$ (they thought it was the transmission failure, I bought a 42$ transmission speed sensor and good to go! Sold it recently for 3500$)

$5,000 for 01 Mercedes S55, it averaged about 2 tow truck trips/tank of fuel while I had it, which was not very long.

$880 for 87 Mercedes 300SDL, the interior was extremely nasty and it blew a tire on the way home, but I ended up fixing most of the issues and drove it for a few years, then sold it once enough difficult to fix things started leaking too badly to want to deal with it anymore, but it still ran and drove fine and didn't need a tow truck the whole time I owned it.
