BTW, what is described seems closer to a Solo I event instead of a Solo II event.

For most clubs, Solo I style events specify different safety requirements (closer to Rally or Road-Racing style safety equipment) but overall the events are very similar as it is a single car on course competing for the best time and they can run as often as the club allows. Most Solo I events are hillclimbs (Pikes Peak for example)
