Unsynchronized Reverse went out in the 80s, man. I think the last ones were the VW 020 and Saturn transmission because they actually moved gears in and out of mesh, old-school.
Easy way for me to remember if I put an FB of FC trans in my RX-7 is if Reverse is synchronized - FCs have synchronized reverse and FBs did not, so Mazda did the change sometime around then.
