Regular cab long bed D200 with a 512 big block is probably my dream truck at this point.
Don't overlook the 318/360 powered trucks. While not as powerful (obviously) as a big block, the 360 can put out plenty of street power.
In reply to noddaz :
A 318 truck is probably more than enough for me honestly; a weekend and a few hundred bucks would produce decent power with one. I'd even take a clean Slant 6 truck, but it would either get some Clifford/Offy goodies or a EFI/Turbo conversion just so it could get out of its own way.
The doors don't close worth a E36 M3.
A 360 with a thermoquad from a 400 is good for over 20 mpg imperial.
Old grille and newer hood looks better.
Unless you want big block cred, go 360. Good heads and a bit of cam make a nice snorty thing.
Honestly I would include the newer years too. I loved the look of my 93 and still generally regret selling it.
In reply to Grizz :
Don't worry, I haven't written those off. I just know less about the older ones, so I wanted a refresher. I love pretty much all the Dodge trucks, save for a time period between 2002 and about 2014.

I never had a problem with the doors closing on either of my D trucks. And the '89 had a cracked door from the previous owners stupidity.
I'm picky about wanting an early truck next time I get one just because I've already the newer ones. And I hate the look of the one piece plastic grill on the last facelift trucks. Also I'm not married to the big block idea, I just don't want another 12 valve unless it has a p7100 pump and a stick behind it.
Out of 16 different D/W trucks, Traildusters, and Ramchargers I've owned, the only one of mine I had an issue with had a worn hinge. It was easily fixed with a new pin and bushing
I swear to the Car Gods, I must be cursed.
I'll be honest: I started this thread because I had one of these trucks lined up to buy. It's in another state, and I was going to go grab it tomorrow. Here in MA, you need at least a bill of sale AND a previous registration to obtain a MA Title when buying an out-of-state vehicle, which is mandatory for registering a vehicle. The seller thought he had a previous registration, but now he can't find it. No registration, no truck.
I'm praying to the Car Gods that he miraculously finds either the previous title and/or that registration before tomorrow.
In reply to Tony Sestito :
that is a super-lame law. why isn't a Certificate of Title by itself good enough on an out-of-state purchase?

Sounds like the seller doesn't have the title either. The bill of sale and registration is likely for registering a vehicle of certain age without a title.
MS enacted a law a couple years ago requiring a previous registration & title when registering an out-of-state vehicle with antique plates. The intent was to make sure there was no lapse in unpaid MS registration fees.
This is why I had to register the Vette in IL, even though it had never been there & I had no intent of taking it there. But because I had the title+current IL registration I was able to sell it in MS and the buyer was able to register it without issues.
Well... the seller actually went out and registered the truck today. That means I should be good to go. Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, a build thread will be up.
In reply to Tony Sestito :
If it's any consolation, I've jumped the wall and bought three vehicles in your miserable state and dragged them home to Connecticut. Dealing with the Massachusetts RMV is a huge pain in the balls from our perspective too.
Good luck with your new Dulcich!
If it real, is it too god to be true.
This is local to me, I can check it out if someone wants it.

My brother owned a 75 and a 78, both top line Adventurer SE's bought new, and you could pitch a cat through the gap between the door seal and the body. Adjust it in to seal properly, and you'd have to roll the window down to get it to latch. I think they got better later on, but the early ones were bad.
I don't know how the position of the window would make a difference. Unless you are saying the cab was too airtight for you to be able to close the door...
