A number of things. Pretty darn cool. My dad used to do this stuff but maybe not that messed up! Given the number of Russian youtube crash vids this fellow will never run out of projects. And I'm pretty certain he'd rock at any GRM challenge doing a parking lot build. BTW my dad used a very basic Tomahawk brand to do his stuff.
There's a little used car lot on the main drag in a town near here. Nothing but BMWs. Next door is a body shop that does nothing but absolutely destroyed BMWs.
Hmmm....
The question is why? So many hours and the impact zones will never be close to 100% it was cool in the video to see where bmw used adhesives instead of welds.

Just tried it and it worked for me.
It makes me look at damaged cars in a whole new light. I'd love to give him the winning Demolition Derby car from the County Fair and see what he can do!
For sale: Low miles, nice paint, clean Carfax. No lowballers.
Damn, that car got monumentally berked. It must have some serious value to make that repair justifiable to someone. Impressive.
In reply to penultimeta:
Why not? To be completely illegal would require federal law. I wonder what most states think.
Perhaps there is not as much transparency in the Russian resale market to show a vehicle's collision history. looks good, must be good?
In reply to ebonyandivory:
Thanks for that, Sir! Tremendously cool (therapeutic, even) to watch. Gives me hope for my Starlet tub that I berked to all heckfire.
I also second the question about the amazing slide hammer that appears to spot weld itself to metal, then release. Mighty awesome.
In reply to wheelsmithy:
You're welcome sir!
That's how I feel too. Give me hope. In fact, I wouldn't be worried about (obviously much more minor) buying a crash-damaged car.
Didn't watch the whole video, but it is nice to see a master craftsman at work. Seems like people who can do that kind of work are rapidly disappearing.
So what would be the paper trail on this, here in the ol' USA.....salvage...uh... Well after all that effort, I for one would not bat an eye on this ride. His command of the autoskeletal stretcher is phenomenal. To those who are skeptical of the shell integrity...look at what NoHome as done with the 'P1800ESkinda'...I rest my case, your witness
I have this picture in my head of the owner bumping a curb and everything going back to its previous state. :)
If I were this guy, I'd focus on the bio hazard cars. Less body work but more cleanup. He could probably get those cars at about the same price and cost less to put back on the road.
