Never got the criticism that they were "boring-looking". The original GTOs in '64-'67 were just your dad's boring old LeMans with some badges on the outside.
Most people only get to see the rear of the car anyways
I bought a new 2006 that was left over in early 2007. Black, 6 speed, crazy fast. Love it, but sold it two years later, it actually was purchased by Lingenfelter and was fitted with a supercharger and put in their collection. True story, it only had 20k miles on it and was mint. Miss that car!
Okay, I found the old media release for the 2005 GTO. It says "Available hood with twin air scoops." Maybe I'm remembering the word "available" from the original lit. It doesn't say standard. It says available. Or did they mean that the hood itself is available? Weird.
Ta da, I found it.
Option code BZJ: hood scoop delete.
Pretty sure this is what became of it.....

They don't list the VIN, but when the guy picked it up, he said it would be modified and added to their collection and then they auction them off as they constantly change the inventory.

This was the best color those came in. Even came with a dark purple leather interior. Too bad it was also one of the rarest colors that they were available in and was exclusive to '04 only.
