I think Bill is blacklisted in the NFL, if you look at NFL HC coaches most of them just coach, and ownership and GM make the rest of the decisions. Bill was the CEO of the patriots and wasn't afraid to take on ownership, that style and the owner ego just doesn't work. In addition Bill's son is also blacklisted, it was rumored that when Bill retires from UNC his son would take over as HC. It is a shame that Bill wasn't able to get the most wins in the NFL, but I think that Andy Reid based on his 5 year contract will probably have the record in 3 years and is younger. Bill is in his 70's I can't imagine him being in his late 70's running a college program, but of course Joe Pa, did into his 80's so anything is possible. Maybe his GF is rejuvenating him to a young age.

You guys do realize we could conceivably have a Vikings/Bills Super Bowl, don't you...?  Place your bets!

Losing to the Bills I can take. They are very good, and Josh Allen may in fact be an alien. But losing Carlton Davis, Alim McNeil, Khail Dorsey, and David Montgomery to season-ending injuries in that game... That's a bit much. Especially considering we're already missing Hutchinson, Anazalone, Rodriguez, and countless others. We are still 12-2, but it feels a lot more tenuous than it did a few weeks ago.

Goff threw for almost 500 yards and 5 TDs with no picks and we still lost.

We are down to 5th string on D. No wonder they scored 48 pts. Pretty brutal.

That will be the next step for Dan to take- be aggressive enough to not risk your body like that.

I saw someone refer to the current Lions Defense (after all the injuries) as the "Legion of Whom" and i thought that was very clever

Tonight should be a good game. Without Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk the Niners offense is a good deal less potent, but they should be able to make some hay with the Lions patchwork defense. Still expect the Lions to take it, but it could be fun.

And with the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select... everyone.  Because we suck eggs.   Literally, besides one cornerback and QB, we need it all.

What a pathetic, miserable, completely uninspired season offootball this has been.

But I am definitely rooting for a Buffalo-Vikings or Lions super bowl.  Might be the best tailgate week in history, haha.

Feels like when I was growing as a New England fan in the 80s and 90s...

I guess they made it to #1

I'm hoping for a blowout, but that's probably not realistic. The Niners still have a lot of studs, even with the injuries.

We are so very beat up, though.  And next week is considerably more important- no matter the results tonight, the winner gets the North AND #1 seed.

Yeesh. The Lions can't stop a nosebleed these days. Gonna have to rely on shootouts from here on out.

Having a good kicker is like having a car that starts every time. Jake Moody sucks this year.

I really wanted the Lions to draft him, too. Glad we ended up with this guy:

But the question, to me, is whether the Vikings spend the $ and keep Sam Darnold.  Somebody's gonna throw a boatload of cash at him the way he's been playing...

The other part of that story is how much the Jets suck. They almost ruined him.

It's an interesting dilemma for them in the offseason. How do you let Darnold walk after what he's done this year? But on the other hand, they were supposedly very high on JJ McCarthy, and he's on a rookie deal, which gives them a lot more cap space. But if Darnold leaves and JJ struggles, it could all go very badly for them. They are clearly still in a Superbowl window, and you can't waste those.
