  1. Why, when cleaning up an oil spill of Mobil 1 sythetic engine oil, does the laundry soap I use turn red?

  2. Why is the only standard thread bolt used in an Aisan car the 7/16 nf bolts used to hold the seatbelts in? (This one I think I know.)

  3. Why, when spark plugs were standardised 60-70 years ago, did American manufacturers choose 14mm or 18mm thread, making it the only metric thread in the car?

It's funny to me how the global standard in tire sizes is an old english (inches) wheel diameter and a metric thread width.

1) Why are you using laundry detergent to clean up synthetic oil? (Might be a good idea, just never heard of it).

2) Why are you removing the bolts holding in the seat belts in your mother-in-law's car? And why are you rubbing that file on her brake lines?

3) Have you never contemplated the numbers of different thread standards in the last 60-70 years of British cars? Now THAT's a question.
