I watched it back then, tried watching it recently, and couldn't get back into it.

Janine Turner could get me to do anything, though.

I'm assuming it was a typo of "solid".

I thought it was probably an autocorrect for sucked.
I asked PW and she remembered all the characters, and premise.  I was probably busy reading the pre internet print version of Marketplace, or Old VW's or something like that

I started watching it again.  It's a lot better than anything on TV now.  The radio dj is Chris played by John Corbett who also played the husband on the My Big Fat Greek Wedding movies (my life).   The one episode to watch is when Chris builds a catapult and wants to fling a cow.

I watched it when it was originally on. It moves a little slow, but I enjoyed the absurd storylines.  The satellite one being especially weird.

I tend not to remember details of TV shows I watched 30 years ago, but I do remember this episode.

Also, pretty sure the device was a trebuchet.

And just in case you weren't sad enough about the show ending after 110 episodes, the final scenes were accompanied by the beautiful melancholy of Iris DeMent and the song "Our Town."

The bride and I have been binge watching it, def stick with it - I agree the first few episodes were high on annoyance, but it improves and smooths out considerably as it goes along. We've just started the last season......

I found Holling's squeeze Shelley the most difficult of any of the characters to watch.....tho the idea of an 18-20 year old hardbody pageant queen wanting to pair up with a 60 something does give hope to the rest of us old farts!

I guess I can let you slide.

It's not that many years since my son and his teammates built one for a project his last year in high school.  The thing chucked a tomato something like 200 feet.  Trebuchet.  I will forever remember that word.   laugh
