I just stumbled onto this show on youtube. It's a UK show where two dudes go buy a car (not modern boring crap by the looks of it), fix it up mechanically and cosmetically and flip it. The price cap is 5,000 pounds. I just watched them do a DS.
Pretty cool show.
Yes . . . and I enjoy it very much.
Yes as well. I've watched all the ones on the youtube. Apperantly they show it on one of the HD channels, it's been discused here before.
Lately, the host has been in America, buying old US stuff and shipping it home! One recent episode was a ~1953 stepside pick up.
Its on Velocity (formerly HD Theater)
On the latest season you might say they raised the price cap a bit...but I think they improved the format of the show in a few ways, and as usual they are tinkering with some cool cars so what's not to like.
I watch it on Velocity also, and enjoy it for what it is.
I love that show but I often question some of their motivation on replacing parts. Brand new shiny bits next to old faded tattered stuff. Maybe I just am not British enough to understand.
Any place online to get the newer episodes?
Just watched the episode with the '70 Charger. They got ripped off by the junkyard on the used parts.
I also thought it was funny when they were excited by 16 & 17 second times at the drag strip.
Still have been enjoying the show.

Check Youtube. I've found most of their episodes posted there.

Just watched them do a Karmann Ghia, a '69. Bought it out west someplace, in decent shape with a few issues. Bought some new bits and kept going on about how cheap parts are here. Shipped it back to the UK, fixed it up NICE, and got, IIRC, about 10K USD for it. Very Grassroots approach to the re-dos, that mechanic has some skills.
I enjoy the show very much, but I too question a lot of the decisions on repairs. You can see too as the show progresses things that got repaired that they didn't even show.
We're behind on the series though on Velocity. They showed the first two seasons, then skipped to the most current. They skipped 4 or 5 seasons. There's a lot of cool stuff we missed, but you can catch up on YouTube with episodes split up in 4 parts.
I "liked" them on Facebook so I know how far behind we are; which we're only behind a half season.

Edd China is a pretty good all around mechanic with with some body work skills.
I like his lack of power tool when wrenching on the cars.
The other thing that amazes me is the fact that all the exhaust bolts come right of with no problems.

Through the magic of TV....
It's still a fantastic show. I loved the 924 and the old Bentley episodes.

Ed does good things with rattle cans, too. That 924 is a good example of that.
In reply to cwh:
And not so good things. His color match for the front fenders on the Ford Capri was bad. But overall he seems to be good at spraying paint.
In reply to SyntheticBlinkerFluid:
I think a lot of the repairs are never shown due to airtime constraints with the tv show.
Edd is a pretty cool dude. This is what he does when he isn't on wheeler dealers

Probably, but sometimes it's a significant repair and they don't add it into the total cost. It's only a couple times I've seen it though. Other times its just paint and such.

He kind of reminds me of my trusted mechanic in the UK. Similar approach to the way they work.
That said, you do see a lot fewer power tools being used, at least in small shops in the UK.

Given my experience with getting stuff undone on UK cars, that's the magic TV dust they sprinkle over the cars .

Sadly Dish Network took it off of my package:(
Saw the bigeye Sprite one recently. It was pretty funny how their simple fix up was basicaly a full resto that skipped replacing a few parts, but that is really how it has to be with cars that old.
Good show, way better than most.

We've had a few threads about Wheeler Dealers over the past couple of years. I love the show, although I agree it is definitely edited for tv and then again for commercial tv, so even more gets skipped.
I also question a number of their repair choices, but it makes for good tv.
