Yeah. I'm not a big "shakes fist at moon" kind of person but these kind of suck. I suspect that you'll get lots of clicks, but I suspect that a lot of them will be accidental.
In general I really don't mind the ads and in fact, go out of my way to click them when I'm trying to get to an advertiser's site, but these I would categorize as invasive.
Sorry Tom, I love you guys, but as a happy customer of both zines and a monthly donation to the forum, I'm going to continue ad-blocking network & browser-side.
I am happy to hear that you guys are running the private ad server, though. I've been a fairly hard core user of script & ad blocking for years including private DNS for mobile, so yeah, I'm definitely more on the wary side of the equation, but that's great for others.
