I just finally got a gig up in Colorado that will allow me enough extra money to have a $10-15k race/DE fund a year. I'll be living in the Springs so its a 2 hour tow to high plains and an hour to pueblo with PPIR right across town.

So the question is which groups are really good to run with? Any classes that are more competitive than any others? Id be looking at a tin top car and not an open wheels.

Love to hear any thoughts.

Mike

NASA is really the biggest game in town here.  Spec Miata, CMC, GTS, etc.  Porsche Club does 1 club race a year at HPR.  BMW does nothing.  SCCA is smaller than NASA.

I'm up in S. Denver btw...

Thanks Doc. I'll be in centennial all of the time side that is where my client is based  out of. I am just choosing not to live there.

I'll have to check out Nasa. Honda challenge or cmc where on my list.

I am buying a house in Monument, so will probably see you guys around.  Autocross first, then maybe some track time.

I haven't raced at a NASA race but I race (and sometimes instruct) with some guys that do and that seems like a great group.  I have raced with RMVR (and in fact will be racing with them next week) and they're also a great group.  My impression is that the RMVR guys race cleaner but to be fair I'm comparing the RMVR open wheel vintage group with NASA Spec. Miata.  I don't know how the other NASA classes are.  If you're up for a haul you can come down to Albuquerque and race with SWMS.

My client is just off I25 on Dry Creek. I'll be up there a couple days a week.

I'll have to check out the vintage guys too. Honestly i'm not a great wheel man but I just want to enjoy some track time.

OK, that's less than ten minutes from my house.

Spec Miata is the same here as everywhere else, expect contact.  The GTS guys tend to be pretty clean but when I see the effort they put in and the amount of spares they bring to the track I'm happy running time trials.  I'm not ready to make that leap yet, especially in the 911 Turbo I just bought.
