My wife and I are heading that way to see the Pixies Thursday night, but we'll be staying until Saturday evening. Last time around Alex gave me some very good suggestions, but I'm always looking for new ideas or events that I might miss otherwise. Any ideas?

I've been out of the loop for fun stuff/events lately. Pick up a Riverfront Times when you get to town, they usually do a good job of running down the goings on. If you want to catch any more music, the concert calendar at KDHX.org is the best for the city, bar none.
Paging Sper to the tourist courtesy phone.

Thanks! That is a pretty expansive list! I may have to make it out for more music. I do want to check out the Schlafly tap room while I'm there, but that's about all that's on my agenda, other than the show tonight.
Ugh... I have no idea what's going on. I'll poke around. It may be a good time to check out the regular local stuff. Good restaurants and micro-breweries.
The tap room is always been a great option. I have been able to smell them for the last couple days at work. Mmmmmm...
Jason Isbell is headed there sunday night, but you miss that.

I'm still pissed I missed him when he came to Bloomington.
Yea. I looked over the events. It sounds like a good weekend to check out the non-seasonal sights and eats.
Any suggestions on that stuff?
Besides the Tap Room, there is the Delmar Loop in University City. A good street full of shops and eats, so its some walking time in 30 degrees. I always suggest the City Museum which I'm sure you remember hearing about last time. Its a bit cold for the outside stuff, so that may put a damper on things.
Apparently we're an outside people.
Triumph Bar & Grill is a restaurant, and Triumph & Ducati dealer/museum.
A few casinos in the area. Hollywood, Ameristar, River City...
For a more romantic scene, head on down to The Hill where there are plenty of Italian Restaurants. Before 3 pm, you can swing by Steve's Hotdogs. They will be the best hotdogs you will ever have. It is owned by The Urge's Steve Ewing who is a big supporter of local music and businesses.
Washington Ave is still a good place. The Jive and Wail is an entertaining place.
Awesome. I've been to the City Museum several times, but never done the night time thing. We might hit that up Friday night. I've also explored the Delmar area some (although it's been a while), but never been to the Triumph Bar and Grill or the Jive and Wail, so I'll try to hit those this time around.
