I'm originally from Southern West Virginia (Wyoming County). Grew up in Charlotte and because God has a sense of humor, I live in Pittsburgh now. PA will not let you sit for the PE until you have passed the FE and THEN have 4 years of work experience. Everywhere else, you just need the work experience and a passing FE score.
And thanks to all who've congratulated me. It's been an odd day. Got some amazing news that I passed this exam, but then had to attend a co-workers funeral.

You might want to do the 4 years between the FE and PE. If you look for reciprocity with states that require it, you might have some problems. At least my boss said he did.
