Blogs that don't require registration to read

So I've been encouraged to start a blog about my gardening.

And a few quick looks finds me some cool gardening blogs already out there- BUT some of them require you to either sign up with your email or use Google+ or Facebook to read them.

I'm not talking about posting- I totally get that I have to fully sign up.

I'm talking about the visitors that come to my blog- I don't want to make them do anything other than read and look at pictures.

I have some experience with blogspot, but are there any others that people like?

The suggestion is to post normal blog content- words, pictures, videos. And it would be nice if I could have organization where there's different pages for different areas that I want to cover- so that it can be a little more organized.

edit- I now see that blogspot is now blogger, run by google. which is fine. but one post about it suggests that some schools are blocking blogger for some reason. Given the group that is encouraging me to write a blog, getting into schools is important.

My domain costs like peanuts. Go ahead and register your domain and get a hosting service. Total freedom to set it up how you like and not blocked by schools.

I've used Wordpress forever. No reader registration required.

mine is on wordpress. It's a great place to blog. Another good one is Weebly

I have a standalone install of wordpress on my own hosted site. It only requires registration if someone wants to post comments, though it is highly configurable in that regard.

Some investigation confirms the majority of the posts- Wordpress.

And for now, since I'm just starting out- I'm going to try with the free version. If that goes well, I'll see if hosting my own is a better idea.

Another vote for WordPress.

A lot of blogs are getting into "sign up to read" as a way to help share and promote themselves. It's one of the lessons in monetizing your site. Annoying for the majority, but it does have a purpose. I don't like it, so I don't do it, but with WordPress it's only a couple clicks to set it up.

Was going to mention Wordpress. Most blogs don't require a login to read.
