Trivia: The Caddy must have a 425, the 500 was only used in the Eldorado except 1976 which is the only year when it was used all through the lineup. I believe the car in that scene was a 1977 meaning it could only have a 425.
So an M60 is a suitable replacement for displacement.
Good to know.

According to the Nazis, the 500 is the one to get lol.
Great Ending.
Except nothing happened to Marie.
So maybe it was more of an Adequate ending.

I was displeased with the ending. It was too...clean? IDK. I wanted a mindberkeley for the final scene.
I liked it, what needed to get done got done, no loose ends were left.
Am I the only GRM'er who recognized that car as a Volvo 240 the instant Walt got in? Those headrests.....

Nope. I was like- Hey that's a Volvo! I was hoping it was a row the boat one, cause it was sure clean for a northern car.

Yeah, I mean it was satisfying. But after all the tension and crazy stuff that happened all season leading up to this episode, it felt like sort of a letdown. I wanted one last WTF moment. They way they cliffhangered so many episodes.... they coulda done something. Also it turns out Walt Jr/Flynn really DOES talk like that... so a Keyser Soze moment might not have worked. And Jesse needed to call Walt a bitch in that last scene.
so can someone to a cliff notes of the ending for me?

My only prediction is the M60 is probably reserved for the people at Gray Matter, judging by its time of acquisition and the sudden change of plans in the previous episode.
Please refresh my memory on when/how Walt came up with the M60. I know it has been shown here and there but I can't for the life of my remember where he got it.

I thought the exact same thing!

I know Walt gave someone a giant pile of money for it.... maybe it was Mike? Not really sure.

The 'Terminator' moment was funny as hell.

I sat there, and I'm like "Just check the visor you dope, terminator that ish. Don't need to hotwire it" If it was an old GM/Mazda, he could have used anything to turn it- as SF1 can attest to- the ignitions in mx6's are prone to wearing out.
There was a Rambo moment too when Walt went out BMF with the M60.
In reply to Duke:
I don't think he's actually shown buying the M60, its just inferred he picks it up on his way back to New Mexico.

Nah, he buys it early, from someone- it's delivered in the caddy that he drives at the end.
In reply to mndsm:
Correct, I looked it up, he is shown buying it at Denny's from the same guy who sold him that revolver, Cadillac included, in the S05E1 flashforward.

THANK YOU. My google-fu was weak today.
But seriously...
What a great series, and what a great series finale. As far as serial dramas go, this might be the best one front to back that I have ever seen. A good friend of mine was on the test audience for the pilot episode, and I remember him telling me that this one was going to be a good one. Man, was he right. Wow.
I thought the finale tied up pretty much all the loose ends that it should have. In comparison to another show that I watched religiously for 8 long seasons (Dexter), every season and nearly every episode was memorable. And the ending was good, too, unlike Dexter, which just frustrated me with it's crappiness.
Also, from a car guy's perspective, they nailed it. All the cars they chose for each character throughout the show were perfect reflections of their personality, even Jesse's Tercel.

I kinda know what ya mean... with how the entire show was final mindberkeley would have been fitting... but at least it did tie up the loose ends.

nope :)... I smiled and called out "240" the moment I saw them

Yeah I mean, it's not terrible, at least it's not the Sopranos ending. There is satisfaction there. But as much of a burner as most of it was for the second half- this was kind of a "Oh, that's nice" ending. I did like that whatever El Camino Jesse ended up in was all built up- shift light, racing seats.... Though I totally expected it to get clobbered by a semi or a train as he was escaping.
