My wife and I are in Fairfax, VA visiting my wife's sister and attending nephews High School Graduation. Just days ago, "the graduate" put his mothers car against a parking lot barrier.
To me this looks like this just needs a replacement bumper skin and looks like it could be a DIY job. With a young driver they would rather pay out of pocket than make a claim.
I searched www.car-parts.com for a bumper cover in the DC area but got no results. My dream result would be to find a used bumper cover in the same color.
I thought I would then turn to "the hive" for input?
To those who know better:
Does this look like DIY repair?
Where would you look in the Fairfax/DC area for a part like this?
If this requires professional assistance, where would you turn for that in this area?
What do you Estimators see?
Would this be a high dollar repair by a professional?
Thanks

Though not shown in the photo, the chrome wheel seems to have survived nicely with just a minor scrape/gouge to the chrome face. Does not seem bent and is not visually damaged in ways inconsistent with typical 6 year old "normal wear."
Seems to be no "drivability issues" or hidden mechanical damage.
Parts channel in Jessup, MD if not looking for one painted. Also, though he's no longer in fairfax, and has moved to Richmond, Lance W. of DC region rally cross fame is a magician regarding body and paint work.
Tried Chesterfield Auto Parts in Richmond yet?

This.
There is nothing 'local' in the Fairfax area, unless you get lucky on Craigslist. Real estate price are way too high to have a junkyard around. You are looking at shipping one in from somewhere, or driving to get one.
Lance is a good guy.
might be able to get one on ebay too

Crazy Ray's in Mt Airy,MD or Jessup,MD are as close as I can think of.
Can't help you with a local shop, but to source the part, you can try Fender liner may need replacing, if they really care about it being "perfect". As long as you're sure the suspension is OK, I doubt there's any other damage. That hood gap is all goofy, but I don't see it being caused by this...it's a Ford, panel fit isn't their best known quality.

Your odds of finding a junkyard piece are slim to none.
It's not a super common car, and it's not a super common color. Worse than that, junkyards don't give a crap about bumper wraps (because they don't make money on them), and are known for pushing cars around and dragging them with no regard for protecting the bumper wrap.
But yes, it is a doable DIY repair. I've done several.
