The hot wheels one is interesting. That 917 bodywork is pre-1969. It would be one of the first few chassis made, which had side exit exhausts.
Now, who made that California plated replica? I love the Salzburg livery (I have a die cast of it on my desk here at work).
I wonder if there are any running examples of these left. I had one. Terrible, terrible car. Looked cool. Terrible car.

Weren't they turbo AWD? That alone is a recipe for WIN right? Why so terrible?
Another car I had. Mine was silver. Designed by Guigaro like the Impulse above. Another cool looking car. But unlike the Impulse, it was a wonderful car...with terrible, terrible reliability.

Rough cobby engine with an on/off turbo. They were really unreliable mechanically and electrically. And frankly, they just didn't drive all that well, even though it had the handling tweaked by Lotus. I loved the looks of that car.
In reply to MG Bryan:
I met Paul Newman while he was driving one of those at Road Atlanta, in 1992, I think.
This a little unusual... I can't actually find a picture to hot link to...
I saw a PBS travel show with Rich Steves in Turkey. A woman was giving the crew a ride in her red 1988 or so looking Mazda/Eunos Cosmo 4 door liftback. It had the flip up headlights and looked like this but with 4 doors and a liftback/hatch: The car definitely had the 1991-1997 Mazda logo on it though...
