Geez, how long has it been since Atl Region held an autocross at Turner?
In reply to oldsaw:
Dunno if they will ever hold another event at Turner Field... They just struck down on the drifters for "noise complaints from the neighbors"

That is My former Light Urple Malibu passing on the bottom. We finished 9th in that race.

Holy mother of Herbert Quandt. I'm usually a purist when it comes to E9s, but that's a swap I endorse. And will duplicate, if I ever win the lottery. I'll start with a rusty parts car, so I don't screw up any of the survivors.
I'm really starting to like this car. There is one locally for sale in the $500 range. It would make a cool Challenge/Lemons car. There is a person on this board that keeps calling to ask if I have bought it yet. He is speaking words like 2.2 turbo Dodge and 2.3 turbo Ford in my ear. This is bad, very very bad.

Guys, we've (well, "they've"..I can't justify running w/o a job) been running there all season. IIRC, the new "law" specifically bans drifting, not noise (although it certainly mentions noise--including animals, construction, and trash collection for some reason).

Of course, 'within 1,000 feet of a residential zone' means we are "technically" breaking it every time somebody cuts a fast run. Good thing they don't know what a drift really is. Who knows how long it will last, but for the moment we still have a site. I have to admit, I actually supported the drifters in this..IMO, all this has done is run those folks back into the streets. I hope the people who supported the ban end up with a wrecked S13 in their front yard..not that they'd learn the lesson they need, of course.
I was going to post up a NIMBY pic, but it seems a lot of folks have actually appropriated the term as a positive one, instead of it's original negative connotation. So here's me at Turner Field a couple of years back.

TR said: Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose. But fortunately I had my manuscript, so you see I was going to make a long speech, and there is a bullet - there is where the bullet went through - and it probably saved me from it going into my heart. The bullet is in me now, so that I cannot make a very long speech, but I will try my best.
Been here 5 times and stood on the porch over looking the Sound.
I would vote for Ron Swanson on a Bull Moose ticket.
