Gorgeous aircraft. Wish it had caught on.
The secretary of our local EAA chapter is building a Viggen
Did he mention why he chose that as opposed to a Velocity or a Cozy? what engine is he going to use?
Long drawn out build. She's been at it as time and money permitted, for over 16 years. Back then, Rutan's design was sort of the default choice in that class. I'm not even sure if the velocity or cozy existed back then. No autoconversion. I think the engine is Lycoming.....what I remember most is the story about what a pain in the butt it was to track it down and recover it after someone stole the engine from her hanger and stuck it on an airboat. She was able to prove to the cops (photos and reciepts) that it was hers.....
I believe the cozy was a Rutan design as well. Must have been Rev 2

I think if I was building one I'd like the Starship ... the old 2 engines vs. 1 .... 'course as I get older I trend more and more towards the "belt and suspenders" type of guy ...

It hit the back of a flatbed and if memory serves me, there was a fatality. One passenger didn't make it and driver charged.
