Wah, wha, what the??? IS that five, four cylinder engines and cranks on some kind of common attachment? It looks like the crank girdles are all joined together. How do you get the power from the five cranks to come together?
Sort of opposite extreme below.

OK. Googlymoogly says it's a Chrysler 30cylinder!! tank engine. I miscounted the plugs. It's 5 x 6 clinder engines. Info on the web keeps saying it's a common crankshaft which is impossible as can be seen from the pic. This drawing shows each crank has a gear on it driving a single central gear.
5 x 250 cu/in engines for a total of 1,253 cu/in 20.5Liters!! 370hp at 2,850 rpm.
I wonder what the oiling was like with the engines layed down like that?

I don't get it. Luyendyk and Rahal both came up through club racing. What joke am I missing? While I never rated Luyendyk that highly Rahal is one of my all time fav Indy car drivers who I wish had had a better shot at F1 rather than too young in an aging crappy Wolf.
Required

It's more of the stereotypical "look" for either disciplines.
