They run two Chumpcar races there each year. With the Cdn dollar so sucky, we are contemplating driving 20 hours east to run a second race instead of 20 hours south...

Calabogie looks interesting.

I chased. I did not catch. Between the horsepower difference and our relative levels of knowledge of Calabogie Motorsports Park, that was not going to happen.
You American types should come north. Mosport, Calabogie and Edmonton all have races. Your dollar would let you live like kings...
Calabogie is interesting for sure. I'd happily spend days there. There's not a lot of elevation (I drive High Plains Raceway and Laguna Seca more than any other tracks) but there's enough to add some interest and it's used well. There's a lot of learning to be done.
I was there for a hot lap evening. Fairly cheap, open track time with no run groups, spaghetti dinner. A great way to spend a long northern evening. If I still lived in Ottawa, I'd burn up a lot of rubber there.

I don't get the obsession with turbine-powered cars. Do turbines really have the desired power delivery profile for wheeled vehicles? I mean, it's cool, and an engineering treat, but ultimately seems silly.
