Perfect application. Wankels are very efficent at WOT.
Audi was investigating their use as range extenders a few years back. They do still contain NSU after all.

Deja Vu!

I like the look, but I can't imagine how it it would get power from the flywheel to the axle. The blower drive is on the front, so how do you make that work when the back of the engine is right up against the tailgate?
Stubby Bob from Roadkill was somewhat similar but they mounted the engine backwards with a V-drive.
it doesn't even look like there's room for a V-drive in the back of this thing.
TH425 is the beefiest 3-speed auto that ever beefed, and it has a forward output to a separate differential that generally mounts under the center of the Cadillac 500 or Oldsmobile 455 that it was attached to.
/the TH425 was the ONLY trans ever used behind the full brunt of the Caddy 500's torque. The TH400 didn't see the 500 until 1974, after it had been heavily neutered

Of course! Got me.
My non-sarcastic reply: I didn't have to Google it, I'm 63 years old, and should have thought of it, especially after referencing Roadkill (their Datsun mini truck with the olds engine in the bed has a Toronado transaxle).
I was around when the Toronado and Eldo were new.
I missed the obvious solution. Thanks for pointing it out. Cool truck.
