This was a 1992 Miata. The ad says it has the Paco Motorsports lift kit.

The funny thing is, if they'd used a straight tube from the base of the door to the bend in the halo, it probably would also clear the dash, as well as being a whole lot more like a roll cage for safety, instead of MonkeyBarz.
Still no excuse for that horrific side bar though.

It's up for auction.

Agreed on te side bar. It is is hilariously bad.
Question on your proposal - are you suggesting the vertical a-pillar bar start in the doorframe instead of the floorpan? It makes sense as you could push the cage farther away from the driver and avoid that terrible angle, but every cage I've seen mounts to the floor so is that kosher? (honest question) I learned a lot about cages from our Lemons car, but I still consider myself a complete noob.

In reply to Matt B :
I'm saying the A pillar shouldn't try to be vertical. Heck, there may be room to thread it in the existing cage, so that it in theory follows the A pillar (as useless as it is, not being actually attached to the pillar)
But man, if the main hoop was just 4 or 5 inches wider, that cage would be so much nicer...

Considering the fact that there will never be a door on that car again, everything could be wider. Put the front downtubes up on the sill, and everything gets better, too.

The last place you want to be in a bike wreck is still tangled up with the bike. A cage on a bike seems like a horrible idea, to me at least.

That place is about 20 minutes from my house. They have had that Reliant Robin there for I think all 6+ year's I've lived here. I stopped by one time a year or 2 ago to check it out and if I remember right the paper in the window of it says that it's sold and waiting to be picked up, it's still there as of this past Saturday.

They appeared to be homebuilts. There are a couple planes and a missile carrier there also.
One of The Wife’s friends was drug to a sign painting party (apparently that’s a thing now) and she made this for us:

Obligatory hotlink related.
Wildly inappropriate carrier landings, one of the most fun things to do in a flight sim!
Yeah that pic of the SR71 turning looks like its from a sim. And no, there's no way to land an SR71 on a carrier, I've tried.
