I found my old split timer stopwatch. When I trained harness racing horses we timed them to the fifth of a second. All horse racing, both Standardbred and Thoroughbred went to tenths of a second a few years ago.
Autocross requires a bit more precision.
I haven't heard from Fred for a while, but he did some really cool stuff.
