Jesus, I'm not sure if I'm more terrified of drowning when that thing sinks, drying of mold from the interior, or dying of tetanus from the rest of the pile.

Tetanus is quite rare in dogs (which is why we don't vaccinate them for tetanus), but I've seen a case. They told us in vet school that we would recognize one the moment we saw it, and that's absolutely the case. The muscle contractions are very obvious.
Humans are another story.

Why did it take the engineering world so long to figure out that the best way to generate traction was to put more rubber on the road?

Be sure to flip them half way through your trip for even browning.
when I had my 70 Impala half the people who said "my dad had one of those" then told me about riding in the rear package shelf on family vacations. I bet the view was cool for a small kid.

That was my favorite place to ride when I was a kid. Especially at night. Watching the stars and trees go by was awesome.

It didn't. Could you imagine trying to sell sell someone in 1970 one (1) tire for $300? Racing tire sizes had not filtered down to the street level yet. Unless you are talking about n50s on the back of a Chevy/Ford/Mopar/AMC
