Geneva Motor Show, 1963. Mercedes 230 SL introduction. Great pic, but I find it funny that two of the many people crowding around the car were looking at the guy taking the picture and not the car. (The woman in the middle and the guy on the right).
And then there's Ace Ventura in his sunglasses staring down the little kid leaning on the hood.

Notice the guy with the M-14 looking for sharks.
"Flick" didn't come out as planned

The guy looking at the camera man also has a MB brochure with a smirk like I just bought one of those.
Sly Stone rode his chopper in the early 70s, somehow it found its way to Japan.

I don't hate it as much as I probably should. A little shave, and itd be nifty. What did it start as? Viper?
Unrelated picture
Someone should test this to see if it is amphibious (and hopefully it is not).

I believe there's a Miata buried somewhere under all that.
Also, note the silver tandem-axle whatever it is in the background of the lower pic.

Look at the door glass and the roof shape, and you will see the answer.

Might be some MX5 (we didn't have Miata's) but probably not much ...
WRT the clip below "LVV" refers to "Low Volume Vehicle" which implies it was ground up rather than a conversion. "7AT" in the VIN indicates it was issued by the NZ Transport Agency (alias Whata Katastrophe) so it didn't have one of it's own to start with.
That silver thing in the background is definitely interesting - maybe a cutdown Hiace converted to a low loader ?

Interesting info!
The top, door glass, windshield, fuel door / upper QP, and trunk all look like MX-5.
"Limited production" sounds encouraging, though.

In reply to NickD :
They're parked in a handicap spot.
