Dude ain't quite Clapton, but he brings it pretty solidly in this video.
y'all FSP guys got pretty good taste in music! john mayer is a solid player for sure.

In fact, there's only a couple of guitar hands that I can immediately pick out (pun intended) without asking Shazam for help, and that's Knopfler and SRV.

I'm not too crazy on Mayers pop stuff, but the John Mayer Trio is the E36 M3.
John Mayer is a solid guitarist. I like the trio, his newer acoustic neil young esque stuff and even the poppy stuff.
