Hoopties for Homeez is racist. Let's be honest here. If you're saying this it doesn't matter what color you are. We all know what's being said and about who. It also furthers the idea that most welfare recipients are black. In 2003 the difference between the percentage of white families on welfare and black was a matter of a few percentage points. Data here.
I'm the one who said it, and obviously, no, you don't know E36 M3 about what I was saying about whom.
For the third time, Cash for Clunkers was called "Hoopties for Hybrids." I am not making that up. I think Hoopties for Homeez is funnier. Calm down.
Even though I didn't say E36 M3 about black families receiving welfare, and that was not the intent, berkeley it, I'll bite. I don't need to look at your berkeleying graph, I know more white families in the US receive welfare than black families. They also make up 80 berkeleyING PERCENT OF THE POPULATION vs. the 13% that blacks comprise.
Again, if you're going to call someone an ignorant racist, at least have a shred of a clue as to what the berkeley you're talking about.

Sorry man. It was funny. I'm bailing before I get your thread locked.
I think a porch may expand because of this thread...

That and the added 91% increase in fuel prices since the day he was inaugurated.
Huh? Highest gas prices I ever paid were under GW Bush
Gas prices are 91% higher today than when Obama took office in Jan 2009.
Yes gas prices took a huge dive right around the election. Still about 25% less than what we paid during Bush and that's not even accounting for inflation. I need to go look back at my records but I paid almost $5/gal for premium one summer under Bush if not slightly over. Right now it is the highest it has been since the election at about $3.85/gal for premium.

Lets stop wasting money on new weapons that don't make any sense in today's global political climate. We could have the welfare and pay our debts.
That's a pretty strong contention, Wes. Got any hard numbers about spending on speculative weapons systems and how cutting that funding covers welfare costs and pays down the debt?
I could dig up some charts and numbers that say anything I want them to and you can do the same, the bottom line is that stuff is expensive and not really useful in todays political climate. We have been a superpower for so long that everybody else is in the stone age. We can lay off of making more new stuff for a while to focus on other things. Would you throw a ton of money on upgrades for your racecar if you were already winning every race you entered? Wouldn't you rather do something else with the money and continue winning races?

Sorry, pursuit of happiness doesn't mean you actually get it, just that you can try.
Yes but those of us that want it need a fair chance to do it without having to cheat and without having to fight others that cheated to get there for our fair share.
Anyway, I am done with this thread. I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine. It's just fun to blow off a little steam every now and then. See you in November, I will send you some tissues, I see that Kleenex has a free promotion.
Huh? How is going to college, getting a degree and working your ass off cheating to get there?
everyone step back from the keyboard and take a deep breath...

I enjoy political discourse with intelligent, thoughtful people. Typically, they are high in number on this site.
This train wreck proves otherwise. So Margie, you won't hear me complain when the cell door slams shut on this beeotch.
Train wreck is a good way to describe this thread... please make it stop
Interesting you're calling for a thread to stop...........................that you keep posting in.
Just sayin'

I posted in it once, several pages ago. This thing has gone way off the cliff since then. It really is time for it to die, and I rarely say that.

Margie et al, sorry this went off the rails. I posted what I thought was a funny semi car related joke and it turned into this. Feel free to lock/delete as you see fit.

The USmilitary is already looking at deep cuts in spending and advanced weapons systems. You may have heard about it.
Here's a chart of the proposed US 2013 budget with a breakdown on military spending. Said defense budget includes the proposed cuts. Even if ALL spending for advance systems were eliminated, the opportunity to fully fund welfare and pay down the debt as you claimed is nil.

As far as investing money on a winning racecar, yes I'd do it - depending on the current and potential capabilities of my current and potential competition. Just like we're doing with proposed defense spending right now.
