Not really a conspiracy, and this is close to floundering maybe, but everyone sees the hard left and the hard right as opposite ends of a pendulum. I see things as more circular. Go far enough one way or the other and at some point it is all the same. Either govt. owns/controls everything or big business does. I say it's the same result, and probably the same people.

There was a image of that in the Book of the SubGenius (or whatever the first book was). Guy in the middle looking bith ways, line to the left and to the right both going to an absolute caricature of far left and far right... but the line is a circle, and "Bob" was pickpocketing both caricatures.

Weirder yet, I can respect healthy skepticism, I don't understand why that skepticism doesn't get evently applied.
So, someone skeptical of 9/11 being planes flown into towers in NYC will so eagerly accept holograms of airplanes, speakers placed all around, explosives placed secretly months in advance, faked records of the planes, faked NORAD and FAA reactions, fake multiple videos from the scene, etc. The alternative to the reality takes fifteen times the leap of faith they are avoiding that life is scary, people are bad, and sometimes unexpected things happen.
The other amusing part is how many of these theories seem to think our government is a lot smarter and more competent than any known government bureaucracy.

The same theories that, from the other side of the mouth, say it is so inept that it is like watching the Keystone Kops.
People have to be willfully ignorant to believe 99% of the conspiracy theories out there. I don't just mean in general, but they have to actively ignore the internal inconsistencies in their own words.

There is something to that. I heard someone (staying in the 9/11 truther world, since that one is so very wacky) say that there was no way a few terrorists could fly an airliner after only a few months of learning on single engine planes, and then also implicate a few thousand people, including NORAD, FAA, some unknown vessel firing a missile at the pentagon, and some jet firing on flight 95, tons of people in NYC, and others up and down the chain of command, including the guy who illustrated the Simpsons. Sure, that's way easier to believe. Occam's razor. It's a good razor. Hanlon's razor. That would be the best razor is not for Occam's.

For me it's the "Our government can't seem to keep the streets paved, yet, they can get thousands of officials, civilians, and the media all playing a part with no one ever speaking a word."
Small one but I still think Pat Sajak has a brake pedal for the Wheel of Fortune. Watch his feet when they're spinning for the final spin. Depending on the stage setup you can see he puts a foot up (probably to rest, but it's my conspiracy) while the wheel is coming around. Enough times to be notable, the final spin amount is enough to get the 2nd or 3rd contestant easily into 1st (probably by design, but still).
All the rest of mine are lockable.
You guys are making this less fun with your logic and reason. Occam's razor, shmoccam's razor.

AI and the internet will result in the computers / robots taking over.
I'll believe it when my computer can communicate reliably with my printer.

Hahaha! I love conspiracy theories. And there is reason to be skeptical, The Northwoods Project, The Tuskeegee Experiment, etc.
But some of the stuff is just so off the wall.........like Alex Jones stuff.

Hilarious! I work for my dad. My dad likes Alex Jones. We often have a radio on job sites and I'm exposed frequently. Classic stuff, it'd be hilarious but for some reason the dude just grates. I can't stand him. I'm sure he's a great person and all but something about his voice just makes me want to kick puppies.
Meat prices are at record highs. When things "go back to normal" the price will come down to pre-Covid levels. Except it won't. It will be at least a buck higher, but no one will notice, because we will have long since forgotten the old normal.

They live in the same household, of course they don't communicate.

Yeah, he's not a great person. He's not even a good person:

Seriously, the man is unhinged and is after ratings and selling his BS "cures" to make himself richer. He's no better than any so-called pastor begging for money from their "flock" to buy a bigger jet, car, vacation home, etc.
The difference is the pastors never went after the families of kids killed by a disturbed person in their own school. That's just disgusting and I admire the restraint of the parents who've had to deal with him and his ilk.

So much for trying to give someone the benefit of the doubt. Dude just went from wild entertainer to certifiable wacko. Oh well.
A friend of mine, who has never met a conspiracy theory he didn't like, informed me today that we ramped up our efforts in Viet Nam under Johnson because Lady Bird owned a lot of stock in Sealand, Bell Helicopter, and Colt.

That would be the same "media" that is "anti government" and would have a vested interest not only for this "bias", but also because their revenue would skyrocket with all the dropped bombshells, right?
Key to any conspiracy theory is that the principal interests get painted in whatever light makes it easier to believe the conspiracy theory, even if it's the exact opposite of what you said ten seconds earlier.

OMG!!! The first part of Quarantine is "quaran"!!!
Educate yourselves sheeple!
Last year the government was tracking us using facial recognition. NOW they ask us to wear MASKS?! THE NERVE!
In reply to N Sperlo :
Facial recognition is too hard, now they just put chips in the facemasks. But you need these special sunglasses to see them.
