So we got a couple inches of snow here today and our husky has never seen it before. It was fun to watch her try to figure out what it was, whether or not she could eat it and then watch her tear through the yard for about an hour. The cattle dog has seen lots of snow and was unfazed by it. All he wanted to do was chase the ball.
Anyway, on with the pics!
Here's a shot of the pond...
...and here's the biggest Mimosa I've ever seen. It's in our front yard.
Looks like one of mine. Unless the weather here makes a drastic change, my guys won't be seeing any of that stuff this winter.
Had a black lab/mix that used to make her own snowballs and throw them in the air and then chomp them. Was pretty neat to watch, unfortunately never got pics/vid of it. She would scoop with her front paws and jump up to toss the snow. We used to go out and throw snowballs at her and she would catch every one.
Great shots. I WISH we had snow right now, instead my front yard is 6 inches of solid ice! The puppy hits it and slides across the yard and falls down a lot.
Also love the limited slip collar you are using there. I use the same kind on my cattle dogs those big rings are great for grabbing hold of.
How many cattle dog owners are on here?! Do we all have a penchant for strong willed piranha dogs?
A dog's first snow is pretty funny. My first cattle dog, when let outside to do "her business", didn't know whether to pee on it or eat it. She needed some encouragement as that white stuff didn't smell like ground.

Yeah my pup is full on into the piranha mode right now, and still has those little needle sharp puppy teeth. I've decided he is going to be my "trick dog" going to see how many tricks I can teach him, including having him fetch me a beer from the fridge lol.
I currently own 5 cattle dogs twitch twitch they range from a 4 month old puppy to a 6 year old red male.
oh here is a pic of Mavis a sister to my pup that went to one of the guys at Ruff Wear

My half heeler Ricco was born in Nebraska and then lived without snow for 8 years until we got here to CO. The first good snow we had he was going nuts in the house and I couldn't figure out why until I let him out. Loves the stuff, same behavior describes here, runs around, eats it through it in the air, lays on his back and wiggles.
Now he gets excited if he even smells like it is going to snow, and he can tell.
...and Rebel, that may very well be the cutest dog picture ever put here, even better than soem of the aGRM staff's tortuous dog sweater pics.

No cattle dogs, but I do have a border collie that I am training for sheep dog trials. I train with cattle dogs. This weekend some of them were working cows. They are tough little dogs and amazing to watch. One of them actually jumped up and bit a calf on the nose. That calf wheeled around and ran from the dog.
Here is where I train;

I also rescued a cattle dog pup from the side of the road a few years ago. I ended up giving him to my neigbor so I still see him every day.
We haven't had much snow yet this year, but here's a couple of pics of the pups from last year.
