Drive home was so horrible that I started thinking of better ones.
Circa 2001ish, high school in a college town. Driving Susie down Tennessee St from Ocala St and pull up to the light at White Drive. Best friend in the passenger seat and we've been just jamming to Kenny Chesney's Young as we drive down the hill. Apparently it was loud enough that a group of about 4 college girls in a convertible had heard it and they pull up next to us singing it. Both of us were too young to really know what to do with that and the light turned green and off they drove.
We still remind each other of it once every 3-4 years when we're driving down the same road together.
In a similar vein, was on leave in 2004, driving the truck home from DC, took a detour to visit my aunt and uncle outside of Robbinsville, NC. Forget the interstate I was on, but I was just cruising in the right lane, taking my time. Arm out the window, just enjoying life. Another group of young ladies happens upon me, they speed on past in the left lane. I don't really notice them but apparently they noticed me and they slow on back down and let me pass them. They catch back up and pace me, two on the side closest to me hanging out the window and waving and hollering. I grin at them, they grin at me, one of them gets back in the car and I think talks with the driver, she pops back out and makes the sign for "do you smoke weed?" I laugh and have to shake my head no. They pout and get back in the car and then speed off again.
Laughed about it for 10-15 miles.
Ummm....
I don't think I can share it here.
I wasn't alone, and the car wasn't running.

There are a few, mostly involving driving cars on empty twisty roads. But my favorites...
Pretending I was Stig Blomqvist with my 1978 Fiesta Mk1 on TSD rallies.
Playing lead/follow with Christina Lam on Pocono's little infield track. Video here.
One of the best drives of my life. I posted the same in my car thread and will say the same thing. Sorry about the crap canned music, I did not want to get sued by Kyuss as I was blasting it at the time and was so in the zone that I forgot to turn it off.
I had a ton of really fun shenanigans in my old '97 Impreza (The Scoob). It's the only car I own that I've been able Autocross and/or Rallycross. Almost every drive to and from work back then (early 2000's) was basically a Tarmac Rally stage driven at 10/10...on hockeypuck-esque, 600+ treadwear tires and with a wheezing EJ18 (later swapped for a less wheezy EJ22). I really REALLY miss that car!
A more recent fun moment was when I took my kids fishing in my old, blue-ish '87 Lincoln Mark VII during my layoff in the summer of '13. There's a great fishing spot that is separated from a passable dirt road by what is basically a "Jeep trail"; it's a narrow path that's been beaten down between the tall weeds and trees by UTV's, 4-wheelers, and old beater 4x4's. I had just mounted some very used, all terrain-ish 235/70R16's on a set of SN95 "waffle star" wheels which actually gave the car a decent amount of ground clearance. The "Jeep trail" is about a mile or so long and so narrow that the trees and weeds scraped down the sides of the Lincoln the entire way. I weaved to and fro, trying not to get high-centered, and avoiding the worst of the mud holes but, we made it! You should have seen the looks on the other people's faces when we came rumbling out of the woods in the Stincoln!
It's funny, I don't remember the good moments. It's always the really bad ones that get stuck in my brain. Looking back, they can be pretty funny. Here's a sampling:
I was daily driving my dad's old 1992 Ford F150 4x4 Flareside with the Nite package. It was exactly like this one, minus the cowl hood, the visor, and the random old guy:
The truck was 10 years old at the time, and I resurrected it after it sat for a year when my daily driver '89 Maxima SE got wrecked. I had been going through the truck, fixing just about everything you can imagine, and servicing all sorts of stuff. Front end parts, tune up stuff, U-joints... you name it.
There was a girl I liked in college, and I asked her out. Took a month to work up the stones to do it. She said yes, and asked if she could bring a friend. Sweet! I dolled up the truck, giving it a full detail inside and out, and the thing looked GREAT. We met up, the ladies hopped in my truck (bench seat FTW!) and I had a few friends joining us in another car. We were headed to a local hangout spot a few towns away, and I start hearing a grinding sound. Then I hear THOOOOONG DING DING DING along with engine RPM going up and the truck slowing down. The ladies asked "What the hell was that???".
And the kicker: we were coming up to a bridge. The last place to pull over before the bridge was... an adult video store. While it sounds like the beginning to a fun evening in the movies, in reality, the ladies were not amused. They ended up getting in my friends' car, and she developed a crush on one of my friends instead.
I never found the driveshaft. It flat-out disappeared. My dad showed up to the scene of the crime, tossed it in 4wd, and drove it home with the front wheels.
Looking back, it was hilarious. C-blocked by a bad Ford driveshaft.
