You know those incredibly unhealthy little pies you can buy at gas stations? The ones that are packaged and come in apple, berry, cherry, and chocolate? I made them. At home.
The look didn't turn out right, but the taste was spot-on (only so much better, just real sugar here folks!). This batch was apple. I'm already plotting the berry version...
You ain't E36 M3 till you can make your own Twinkies.
Who's E36 M3in' Twinkies?
Should have put the quotation marks around pies.
Reading the thread title caused me to immediately get a queasy feeling. Thanks.

If you lived in Michgian, you could sell those yourself. Assuming that you grossed less than $20k. Although, I'm not sure what the selling rules are- you may have to sell them yourself.
One of the smartest persons at the farmers market sells full sized pies, half pies, pies the size of pasties (roughly a 1/4 pie), and bite sized parts. Brilliant. And they are very good, too.
You are in Washington, right? I envy the ones you make in the fall. Well, somewhat, since we also have a great apple growing area in Michigan.
Great job.

I haven't had one in probably 10-15 years, and I can still remember exactly what they taste like.
The ones with lemon goo are the best.
I like the Cherry and the lemon goo ones the best.

Those are REALLY good, though if you can find the ultra-rare banana ones.... buy em by the case. They're phenomenal.
The look didn't work because I doubled the filling (seriously, how many times have the gas station ones been full of damn air!!?!?!). Next time I'll only make 50% more filling so I can get the top all the way over.
Oh, and I have the recipe for the lemon goo
The vending machines here at work have them. Their a last resort.

That's a pretty small pie. Oh, and I've got to ask--with or without tassles?

Pasty.
My work prevents me from getting Paisties.

I submit the rarest of the line is sweet potato. This model devastates not only with delicious grease but also dangerously high brown sugar levels. The pastry shell is shellacked in the standard fashion with the white glazing sugar gel coat. I've heard this pie alone is Wilford Brimley's kryptonite.

There's a SWEET POTATO one? Wow. That wasn't even on my radar. Oh well, off to Amazon. (i've ordered weirder stuff from them before. The suggestion thing just says "Dude, we don't even know" when I go there these days.)
The fun part with those pies and pastries is to compare the ingredient list to a paint MSDS.
Seriously. Especially a white paint.
Hostess makes the best gut bomb "apple pies".. everything else is just a poor attempt at capturing the glory of that fine "pastry"..
