Even with the clipping in the top left, this is still a favorite. Bad camera use on a cellphone camera, but the setting and composition - colors and position, subject and division of the frame, Nikki and the raven looking to the same point on the left. Lots of post-processing to make it passable. One of those that I wish I could go back and shoot again and do better.

I drove right by you this weekend, I recall seeing signs for Little Switzerland along my route. Took my son to Grandfather Mountain, then to Mt. Mitchell, then continued on BRP for a bit on my way to Waynesville.
That whole area is my favorite place in the world.
My wife's hometown is Waynesville.
This her and our son, Waterrock Knob, Blue Ridge Parkway. We don't get up to NC much anymore, now that her parents are gone. The last time we climbed to the top of Waterrock Knob was to scatter her mom's ashes.
It's a special place for us, the first place we went the morning after our wedding.

I'm headed back through Ashville today on the way home from Michigan and might just stop for the night. The cool mountain air sure does recharge my batteries.

There's some joke here about an Oxford comma, but I would never do something like that.
This one was shot with my phone. 2.2mm, ISO 50, F1.9, 1/1515s
I love the clouds above the mountains. I'm pretty sure I shot this same image with my camera. I'll have to find it and see how that one turned out.

Technically I guess the Corvette is doing its job, I probably should have been more specific.

The sunlight and mountain fog this morning in Cades Cove made me almost wish I had schlepped my dslr up the 7 mile climb. Almost...

Our Florida kids and their first encounter with Maine lobster.

That reminded me of a pic: Mrs AAZCD at a 'Lobster Pound' in Belfast, ME.
*I have been corrected. That pic was not at Young's Lobster Pound - our old regular place when we lived in Maine. It was another one just outside Mount Desert Island.
