Well, damn. I've been running temp plates on the Santa Cruz since I bought it three weeks ago. Finally got my permanent plates from the DMV but there is definitely a mistake:

So I tried to return them. But the RI DMV said nope, as far as the State of Rhode Island is concerned, I am the Assman.

(Actually, I'm seriously considering securing this plate to the back of the Santa Cruz and seeing how long it'll take until I get stopped. That'd be an interesting experiment. Annie and I are going up to Wolfboro, NH for New Years. I'd love to sign into the Wolfboro Inn as the Assman from Rhode Island!)

Tried my hand at astrophotography while at Bryce and Zion over Thanksgiving. Those parks get dark dark at night. Particularly Bryce. I would try it again if the opportunity arose. This one is from Zion, looking up the valley from behind the museum. This was my second night, first attempt was in Bryce shooting over the Hoodoos. Will post one of those tomorrow.

Jon Nelson, guitarist for Suicidal Tendencies in 1983 and ’84. He recently toured with Luicidal, joining several other OG members on stage. 

My first attempt at night photography. The photos from Bryce were a bit under exposed (I think, it's been a long time since was really into photography back in the Canon AE1 days). This one was shot for 25 secs at f4. I was struggling with the bulb function and remote release on my Nikon. I should have spent more time with the manual before going out into the cold / dark :-) I can't tell if I like the one with the plane or one without.

The band is called The Hajj. We saw them open for Luicidal.
