maroon92 wrote: okay, I am going to be doing some testing on the baseline setups. We are going to run on a "world series" of pre 75 sub 2.5 liter cars. All the best tracks from around the world. I have to figure out what the spec will be for a 510 to keep up with a Dino.... Someone give me suggestions for a test circuit that should provide repeatable laps, as well as indicative of all types of cars.

Sebring (full) for a quick test & tune. Long straights, tight & open corners, bumpy pavement. Nurburgring might be better for the guys that have enough time to spend hours on tuning, but Sebring gets the job done much quicker, IMO. The cars I've tuned there don't even mind the elevation changes at Rd. Atl or Laguna Seca. They are a lil' too stiff for "The Ring", tho..

EDIT: most of the Forza PI problems I've seen are with top speed between antiques and modern cars. My Datsun 510 tune only has a 4.2 top speed ranking when I've built it to D350.

I really love the 'Ring for setting up a car, but I'll use Road Atlanta for a quick tune. Lots of fast, constant corners, transition (esses) on the top of the hill, couple of heavy braking points, a nice long straight, and a tight chicane. Everything you need!

I think we are going to go CARAZY on this one. In true GRM fashion, the rules are quite loose.

425 PI Sub 2.5 liters Pre 1975

Tune it however you want, but if you add AWD you have to subtract 25 PI.

I'd like to be in on the next series, complete and total newb to this whole xbox and online racing thing. Somebody's got to be DFL, and what better way to learn that doing and having a set date to do it. gamertag skrbmw

All the cars that are eligible are RWD, aren't they? You can set the rules set for RWD only, cause some of these cars drop almost 100 PI with the AWD conversion.

wow, really?

Why does Forza see AWD as a disadvantage?

yeah, okay RWD only it is!

Because they only go by power/weight ratio. Adding AWD adds weight, and that's apparently a bad thing in their eyes.

I have a copy of the game (still in plastic) and should be ready to go soon. I'll send a request shortly, but it might be Wednesday or Thursday before I'm able to devote any time to being online since we're sending the September issue of CMS to the printer. Don't wait up for me. I'll be on as soon as I can.

It will still probably be a week or so. I still have to run all of the cars at all of the courses.

I am definitely going to be DFL, because I don't really understand this whole tuning thing. I don't get the intricacies of tire pressure and shock settings. (Chassis tuning NEWB)

I'm totally game as well. I just can't decide what car to run.

EDIT: Here's a picture of what I just built for the new series. Probably going to build 2 other cars and see what I like the most.

I've got a fever for some Forza tonight. Who's going to be online?

I like the 425 PI Sub 2.5 L Pre '75 formula, but wouldn't mind some variety either.

maroon92 wrote: So far, the list of cars for this spec looks like Datsun 510, Porsche 914/6, Lotus Elan Sprint, and Toyota 2000GT. Should I open it up to Sub 2.5 liter to include the Dino, Ferrari 250GTO, Lancia Stratos, Datsun Z, and Porsche Carrera RS?

The 250GTO is listed at 3.0L, and the Carrera RS is listed as 2.7L. Also, the 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R is eligible at 2.0L.
